Sister - I got you!
Let me show you the first steps you need to take as you begin your walk with Jesus. Allow me the honor of walking with you and pouring into you as you discover the aspects of faith that will build a solid foundation. Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV), “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Following Jesus is the way to build your life and your faith on that solid foundation. The foundation that will help you weather all of life’s storms.
If you want that strong foundation, then you need this Bible study! Join me for this 4-week FREE course on how to build your life on that foundation by following Jesus.

For a long time, publishing a book was the credibility marker.
If your name appeared on a spine, it meant someone else had vetted you. Chosen you. Approved you. Traditional publishing gatekeepers did the heavy lifting, and the book itself carried authority simply by existing. Readers didn’t have to wonder whether the author was credible—someone with power and influence had already answered that question for them.
When my co-authors and I published traditionally in 2004, that world was still intact. Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing didn’t exist. Self-publishing as we know it today wasn’t an option. If your book was in print, it meant something—because very few people were allowed through the gate.
That world is gone.
Today, anyone with an email address and a Social Security number can upload a file to KDP and call it a book. And let me be clear: I am one of the biggest advocates for self-publishing when it’s done well. The removal of gatekeepers has unlocked voices that never would have been heard otherwise. Stories that mattered but didn’t fit the old mold finally had a way into the world.
But this democratization also changed the rules.
A book alone no longer establishes authority.
A strategically positioned book does.
That distinction is everything.
The moment someone sees your book, they are unconsciously evaluating it—not against other self-published titles, but against the best traditionally published books they’ve ever read. They notice the cover. The subtitle. The back copy. The interior structure. The clarity of thought. The depth of the transformation. And quietly, often without realizing it, they ask a single question:
This realization can be incredibly intimidating, especially for faith-driven coaches and CEOs who are used to being competent, capable, and effective at what they do. Many of us are high achievers. We don’t love entering arenas where the learning curve feels steep or where the standards feel unclear.
And here’s where things get confusing.
On the surface, self-publishing looks like freedom. No gatekeepers. No waiting years for a yes. No rejection letters. No permission required. It feels empowering. Efficient. Like a fast track to more visibility, more revenue, and greater influence.
It moved from an acquisitions boardroom to the reader’s hands.
And readers are far less forgiving.
That’s why so many faith-driven leaders quietly opt out of publishing before they ever begin. We reach for logical, reasonable explanations:
“I don’t have time.”
“It’s too much work for not enough return.”
“Books don’t sell anymore.”
“How could I possibly get an ROI?”
And honestly, those are reasonable questions. If you’re measuring success by book sales alone, hesitation makes sense—especially in an oversaturated market where self-publishing ads promise unrealistic outcomes.
Without a massive audience or a marketing agency behind you, you’re not going to sell 10,000 copies a month. Despite what some ads might suggest, that was never the norm.
But here’s the critical shift:
Let me give you a concrete example.
The SalesGirls publicly shared that they sold around 2,000 copies of their bestselling business book. Respectable, but not astronomical. And then they shared what happened next: that book went on to generate over one million dollars.
Not from royalties.
From backend offers.
From authority.
From positioning.
Because book sales were never the point.
Proof that you know what you’re talking about. Proof that your framework works. Proof that your message is cohesive, transferable, and trustworthy.
A strategically positioned book does far more than sit on a shelf. It quietly pre-qualifies clients before they ever speak to you. It anchors your speaking, coaching, and media opportunities in a clear, credible framework. Instead of demanding more of your time, it actually gives time back—building trust at scale, carrying your message into rooms you will never enter, and continuing to work on your behalf even when you’re offline, unavailable, or at rest.
It’s not a souvenir.
It’s infrastructure.
And in this current trust recession—where everyone is fighting for attention on social media, launching their next offer, and competing for a piece of the influencer pie—even being able to say you “have a book” is often met with skepticism. That skepticism only dissolves when the book begins landing in the hands of readers who recommend it to their friends. When BookTok creators start posting about it without being asked. When podcast hosts read it and reach out to you.
A book can demonstrate trustworthiness quickly and at scale—or it can reveal that the goal was simply to check the “published author” box.
And here’s the part we don’t like to talk about.
And you’ve been telling Him, not now.
Not now—I don’t have the time.
Not now—I’m too busy.
Not now—I’m too sick.
Not now—I don’t have the money.
As if God doesn’t know your circumstances when He calls you.
We convince ourselves the call is real and that we’re willing to obey—just later. Once things line up. Once life calms down. Once the timing feels safer. All the while quietly still saying no.
So how do you deal with illness, lack of money, or an already full schedule?
By being obedient even in the storm.
I’ve had clients write their books in a matter of weeks while battling chronic illness—sustained by God’s strength alone. I’ve had clients say they had no money to publish, only to be given the resources for a full year of coaching. And as my own time-management coach, Lissa Figgins, often reminds me: you do have time.
There is something remarkable that happens when you commit—when you swipe your credit card for a publishing package. Suddenly, it becomes a priority. You find the time. You find the resources. And again and again, I’ve watched God honor obedience.
In 2026, the opportunity isn’t to write a book.
It’s to write your signature book—the one that carries authority, legacy, and fruit long after the launch is over.
And when a book is built with intention and aligned with the work God has already trusted you with, it stops being a risk.
It becomes infrastructure.
That kind of book is worth the time.
Worth the effort.
And worth the investment.
If you’re unsure which kind of support your book needs right now, a Book Creation Strategy Session can help you discern the next step—before you spend money fixing the wrong problem. Schedule a time that works for you at https://roseandpearl.net/booking.
